Monday June, 8 2020 @ 14:12 Nature: Structure Fire - Garage Location: 26524 River Breeze Dr., Millsboro, DE 19966 On Monday, June 8th, the Indian River (80), Millsboro (83) and Lewes (82) fire departments were alerted for a structure fire on River Breeze Drive off of Bay Farm Road. It was identified when initial arriving emergency response units that smoke and fire were visible from the doorway with smoke coming from the eaves of the structure. Indian River units were operating at an earlier vehicle accident and responded from the Fairmount area. Emergency response vehicles from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Engine 80-3 from the previous incident location on Beaver Dam Road as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Emergency response crew assignments included initial fire suppression, evaluation and of the structure to determine the origin of the incident. Lewes and Millsboro crews were utilized at the scene for additional manpower and other services. It appears that a detached garage caught fire causing damage to the exterior and interior of the structure. The fire was quickly knocked down thereby limiting significant damage to the structure. The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident. The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
