Five Points Fire responds for large shed on fire

Monday, June 1, 2020, Five Points was alerted to a reported residential structure fire in the 300 block of Brookside Dr in Ashley Heights. Engine 17 arrived along with Chief Manley (178) and reported a large shed on fire in the rear yard with exposures. E-17 dropped a 4” supply line and crews lead off with 2- 1.75” handlines to attack the fire. 178 directed two engines to respond to a building on Mecco Dr in the rear of the shed to check for extension. Units arriving on Mecco Dr reported no extension. 178 declared the incident under control a short while later and began to release units. Assisting companies were Elsmere Fire Company No.1, Minquas Fire Company #1, Belvedere Fire Company, Cranston Heights Fire Company, Mill Creek Fire Company - Stations 2&21 and Wilmington Manor Fire Company. The Delaware State Fire Marshal News Room is investigating the cause.
